Small studio.
Strong convictions.
Majestical was born in a coffee shop. Not in a boardroom, not from a business plan – from a conversation between two friends who had a feeling they could not quite shake.
Katie and Rachel had both spent years working in the creative industry – talented people doing skilled work for large organisations. Good colleagues, interesting projects, all the things that look fine from the outside. But something was missing.

"There was a feeling - hard to name at the time - that the work existed for its own sake. That nobody was really asking whether it made a difference to anyone. Rachel and I both felt it, though we had never quite said it out loud to each other. We both cared - deeply - about doing things with integrity. About asking whether something was actually right, not just whether it was finished. In the environments we were in, that sometimes made us the awkward ones in the room. The ones asking questions people found inconvenient."
It was not a criticism of the people around them – many of whom were talented, hardworking and doing their best within the systems they were in. It was simply a recognition of something the two of them had in common: they could not switch off their conscience. And they did not want to.
“I remember sitting across from Rachel and saying it out loud for the first time. Wouldn’t it be amazing if one day we could just do good work, for good people, in businesses that exist to do good – to actually make things better, to add value to people’s lives. It seemed bonkers at the time. But I meant every word of it.”
Katie left employment and started building. Slowly at first, then all at once. The right clients began to find their way – charities with stories that deserved to be told better, learning teams trying to make real change in their organisations, founders who had built something genuinely good and needed help showing the world what it was.
“There came a point where I was completely overwhelmed – more projects than hours, more responsibility than one person could carry. I knew immediately who I wanted beside me. Not just because Rachel was brilliant at what she did, but because I knew she cared about it the same way I did. That matters more than almost anything.”
Rachel joined as Head of Video Production, Purpose and Impact – and from the moment she arrived, Majestical became something more than one person’s dream.
Rachel brings something to Majestical that cannot be hired for or faked – she is, inside and out, the ethical and sustainable conscience of the business. It shows up in every decision, every conversation, every project. Outside of leading video production, Rachel holds the studio accountable to the standards we set ourselves – quietly, consistently, and without exception. That combination of skill, integrity and humility is rarer than it sounds. And Majestical is better for it every single day. So when it came to leading Majestical through our B Corp certification, there was never a question of who would carry that responsibility.
Majestical would not be what it is without the people we work alongside. Our freelance network – camera operators, editors, animators, drone pilots, and specialists across broadcast and independent production – are not an afterthought. They are the people who make the work possible, and we treat them accordingly.
That means being well informed and genuinely consulted from the start. It means being respected for their craft, not just their availability. And it means being paid on time, every time, without exception – because we have been on the other side of that arrangement, and we know exactly what it feels like to deliver brilliant work on impossible hours and wait ninety days to be paid for it. That is not how we do business. It never will be.
The coffee shop conversation, it turned out, was not bonkers at all. It was the beginning of something real – a studio built by two people who refused to stop caring, for clients who feel exactly the same way.
Everything Majestical does flows from a single vision:
• Creative work should exist to uplift, educate or inspire.
• The stories that carry the most weight deserve the most care.
• Doing good work and doing good business go hand in hand.
• Caring deeply about the work is not a weakness. It is the whole point.
• A small studio with big convictions can change more than it knows.
Achieving B Corp certification in November 2023 was the moment the studio’s values became formally verified. The process was rigorous and unsparing – and that is exactly why it meant so much. For Katie and Rachel, it was not a finish line. It was confirmation that the thing they had been building was real.
"The proof is not in what we say we believe . It is in what we make."
We don’t start by asking what you want made. We start by asking what you want people to think, feel and do. Everything else – the film, the animation, the approach – follows from that. Here are some examples of what that looks like.
