Responsible Creators Manifesto.

We believe that our mindset, choices, and actions impact the world around us. We create because stories shape how people see themselves, each other, and the world. This manifesto provides us with a framework to ensure our impact is a positive one!

01.

Create with Intention.

Nothing is neutral. Every choice — framing, language, pacing, omission — carries meaning. We ask why before we ask how. Remember that style serves story. Aesthetic choices should deepen understanding, not distract from meaning or responsibility. Always think about the purpose!

02.

Create consciously.

Always consider the potential impact of our work, beyond just its reach. From production to distribution, be aware of the effects digital content can have on people and the planet. Favour honesty, clarity, and context. If content risks reinforcing stigma, misinformation, or disrespect – rethink it. Attention is not the same as impact.

03.

Be Respectful. Always.

Respectfulness is integrated in our mindset, language, and behaviour. We are all different, which is an incredibly special thing. Be inclusive and celebrate our diversities. Share thoughts and opinions respectfully and appreciate the ideas and views of others. Respect the people in our stories – avoid exploitation, stereotyping, and sensationalism. Instead, embrace nuance, contradiction, and humanity. Share, without judgement.

04.

Collaborate.

We can’t do this alone. When telling stories that are not ours, we listen first. We collaborate, consult, and credit — recognising expertise beyond our own. Embrace alliance, partnership and connectivity to achieve a more impactful outcome.

05.

Keep it Real.

No one needs b@#*t! Be authentic. Work with honesty, integrity, and clarity of purpose. Ground your voice in real experience, thoughtful research, and transparent process – allowing our work to connect in meaningful ways. By staying true to what we stand for, even when it’s challenging, we build trust, create work with substance, and form lasting relationships rather than fleeting attention.

06.

Be Transparent About the Process.

We acknowledge our limitations, biases, and constraints. Relationships grow, and projects go smoothly when we speak openly and appreciate the value in consistent, honest communication.

07.

Stay Accountable.

If our work causes confusion, judgement or harm, we listen – and we learn. We welcome feedback, corrections, and growth. Be responsible for what we create and how we create it.

08.

Make Time to Learn, Grow, and Play.

Great work takes time – time to create, time to learn, time to breathe, and time to experiment. We know deadlines matter, and we believe a thoughtful production process leads to impactful content. Work-life balance is important too; priorities are personal. Respect boundaries and use time wisely.

Stay curious and playful. Never stop learning. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or try new approaches. Find inspiration wherever you can and share it. Sometimes the best ideas come from play.

09.

Honor Our Planet .

We live on an extraordinary planet, which we are all responsible for. Let’s take that responsibility seriously. Make sustainable choices where we can, and help repair the damage where we can’t. The video production industry has a significant carbon footprint, so we need to find and work in ways that are more sustainable. Reduce, reuse, repair and renew – make environmentally responsible choices throughout our production processes and personal behaviours.

10.

Give and Receive Freely.

We all have something to give, be that time, money, skills, or knowledge. Generosity is such a powerfully positive force, and it doesn’t have to take a lot to give a lot. Recognise and be grateful for what you have and share what you can wherever and whenever you can. You will make a difference.
